An epic tale featuring the adventures of a brother and sister who lose their father and are separated from their mother.

The first anime series created for television. The series aired daily and featured 3 minutes long episodes. Episodes consisted of various animated tales from history. The show was renamed Otogi Manga Calendar the following year and the format changed to 5 minute episodes.
